Economics through the Eyes of Children Calendar Contest

Are you looking for a fun and easy way to introduce economics concepts to your students? Enter your students in the 2012 Economics Calendar Contest… winning students will be featured in a full-color 2013 Calendar!

What
Students illustrate one of the following economic concepts in their poster:

    *  Economic Wants
    *  Goods and Services
    *  Producers and Consumers 
    *  Specialization
    *  Human Resources
    *  Opportunity cost

FREE!

When
Entries must be received by April 27, 2012
Please mail entry packets to:

Who
Students grades K - 8 are eligible to enter the contest.

Prizes
Entries will be judged on accuracy of content, artistic excellence, geographic and grade level distribution. Winning posters will be published in the 2013 Calendar. The twelve winning students will also each be awarded a $50 savings bond.

*Teachers can qualify for a $50 stipend to pre and post test their students.  The first 25 teachers who submit their pre and post tests will receive the stipend.  Please contact Hue Le at huele@hcee.org for a copy of the tests.  

Rules
1) Posters must be original entries drawn horizontally on 8½ by 11 inch white paper.

2) Entries must be in color. Any coloring medium (crayon, water color) may be used.

3) Entries must be 2-dimensional. (No macaroni, please!)

4) The economic concept illustrated must be written legibly at   the top center of the page. All text must be spelled correctly.     "Double" concepts must both be illustrated. (ex. Goods and       Services).

5) Each student is limited to one entry for this contest.
    *  The entry form should be taped to the back of each entry.
    *  Entries should not be stapled or paper-clipped.
    *  Entries must not be folded.

Entries that do not follow the contest rules will not be considered.
