Foundation for Teaching Economics
The Right Start in Teaching Economics

RSI is a four-day residential program that incorporates content, overviews, demonstration lectures, simulations and special topic discussions. The program's goal is to help teachers identify and learn basic economic content and develop lesson plans for effectively teaching economics.

(*HCEE will cover the cost of registration for Cadre teachers) 

The Foundation for Teaching Economics will cover costs for lodging, materials, field trip / field trip transportation and most meals for program participants.  A $100 expense honoraria will be paid if lodging is not needed.  FTE will not cover round trip transportation to and from meeting site.

Credits
The Institute may also be taken for 3 graduate credit hours in economics from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. Total cost for two graduate credit hours and one transcript is $304 and must be paid by check or money order (payable to FTE) at the end of the Institute.  Requirements for credit to be provided during the Institute.

This course qualifies for PD Credit and can be found on the PD3 site.  For questions or concerns regarding reclassification, please call the Teacher Reclassification Unit at (808) 586-3649.

Registration
Completed application must be received by the Hawai’i Council on Economic Education, including $50 registration fee (payable to "FTE") by May 1, 2012.
