Conference Goals

• Increase awareness about the importance of economic and financial literacy in Hawai`i;
• Assess the current climate of economic and financial literacy in Hawai`i; and
• Identify strategies for improving economic and financial literacy in Hawai`i.

Conference Audience

Achieving economic and financial literacy will be a community-wide effort. Collaboration and cooperation are essential between the following groups for this effort to be a success:

• Federal, State, and Local government decision;
• Teacher trainers, academia, students training to be teachers;
• Public and Private school administrators and teachers; and
• Financial industry representatives, Labor representatives, and other business community leaders.
