the Curriculum Through Economics - This course
is designed to help elementary teachers understand the
basic principles and concepts of economics to teach in
grades K-6, support the Hawai`i Economics Content Performance
Standards (HCPSII) in their instruction; learn ways to
meet the economics criteria of the Standards-Based report
card. In addition, teachers will learn ways to integrate
economics with other subject areas such as language arts,
life skills, and mathematics; and examine instructional
materials and teaching strategies to teach economics in
the elementary classroom. [ITE 588H (2 credits),
Professional Development (2 credits)]

- 24: The Louisiana Expansion - The Louisiana Expansion is an interdisciplinary unit that will bring this historical event to life. The lessons in the unit offer a variety of teaching strategies and activities that address economics and social studies content and skills, communication skills and process skills.
